sure it makes sense in English. people use "them" to indicate a singular person all the time! e.g. when they're (see i just did it) trying to keep the person to which they are referring anonymous, when they don't know the gender of the individual, etc.(they should teach linguistics in school instead of imposing unnatural "grammar rules")

How can HIM sound like 'em??? If he says 'em ikes makes no sense...you dont vote for someone i plurul. Edwards didnt cast two votes right. The question starts "The candidate...".. its NOT in plurul right. THerefor if you hear Edwards saying 'em, it makes really no sense in english and Edwards usealy makes a lot of sense. Hes NOT Bush who stumble over every second word and is just plain old stupid, come on..
